Eugene was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in September. The surgeon at Corpus Christi General Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,250, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $5,750 short.
my son has been in and out of Corpus Christi General Hospital since September. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Eugene struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Eugene won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
