The electricity and water account is 3 months behind. Erik received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on September unless $550 is paid. He had never been late before an unexpected car repair.
Erik called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $160 first, which isn't available.
The household includes an elderly mother, and going through the cold months without electricity and water isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home.
Erik is working on getting back on his feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
