The electricity account is 4 months behind. Ella received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on January unless $700 is paid. She had never been late before October's medical emergency.
Ella called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $90 first, which isn't available.
The household includes two young children, and going through the rainy season without electricity isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
Ella is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
