After a large ovarian cyst, Elias was cleared for laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

San Diego
Elias was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in August. The surgeon at San Diego University Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $12,000, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $7,200 short. my father has been in and out of San Diego University Hospital since August. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $12,000 is more than we can find. While we wait, Elias struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Elias won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $7,200 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,700 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $2,700 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $470 • Post-operative medication: $220 • Physiotherapy sessions: $800 • Travel and lodging for the family: $310 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Michelle
