The water account is 4 months behind. Elena received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless $150 is paid. She had never been late before losing my job in August.
Elena called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $35 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a newborn, and going through summer without water isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
Elena is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
