Eko is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Jakarta Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $250. The registrar has said Eko can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Eko has a 3.8 average, and an academic advisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Eko would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Eko isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Jakarta Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $250 goes: • Exam and lab fees: $15 • Final term tuition: $155 • Textbooks and materials: $80 Thanks for reading all this. - Aditya

  • gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.

    • Sending good thoughts, Aditya. Hope you get there. Sent it to 23 people at work. Take care.

      • Hope it all works out, Aditya. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together

        • Take care, Aditya. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
