Help Divya keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for families and seniors in Mumbai.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 193 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 34% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Mumbai market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $175
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $165
• Baby formula and diapers: $25
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Stay strong, Divya. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Put this on a community board in Toronto this morning. All the best.
