Jakarta Selatan
For twelve years I have run a sewing studio in Jakarta Selatan. In August, a break-in took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $550 goes: • Replacing a cutting table and overlocker: $330 • Initial stock: fabric: $100 • Shop repairs and licensing: $35 • Working capital for the first month: $85 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Updates from Dimas

  1. Thank you all. We're at 23% now ($129). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Small update. $129 so far, I made the first payment toward initial stock: fabric.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($109 in total) I made the first payment toward shop repairs and licensing. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
