Dilani was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in October. The surgeon at Negombo University Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for January. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $690, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $550 short.
my mother has been in and out of Negombo University Hospital since October. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $690 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Dilani struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Dilani won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Dilani.
Sure. The biggest one is travel and lodging for the family, $85. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.
