Deepa is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an accounting degree at Dwarka Polytechnic, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $550.
The registrar has said Deepa can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Deepa has a 3.9 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Deepa would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Deepa isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $550 goes:
• Textbooks and materials: $55
• Outstanding tuition balance: $170
• Final term tuition: $325
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
