Help Daniela keep the the Harvest Pantry pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for families and seniors in Bowling Green.
🇺🇸 Kentucky, United States1,181 views
Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Thursday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 27 families, and now we feed 344 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bowling Green market and keep every receipt.
Each $60 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,150 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $870
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $460
• Baby formula and diapers: $590
• Refrigeration and electricity: $230
Glad we found this place.
