Maple is my three-legged dog of six years. On 29 August we rushed to Duque de Caxias Animal Hospital with kidney failure. The vet recommends a hospital stay and surgery, and the estimate came to $550.
They have stabilized Maple, but the treatment can't wait beyond November.
Maple is more than a pet - Maple got me through my hardest year. I have already put $110 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
If more is raised than needed, the surplus goes to Duque de Caxias Animal Hospital's charity fund for other animals.
Where the $550 goes:
• Emergency surgery: $240
• Hospitalization (2 nights): $170
• Medication and follow-up visits: $60
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $80
