Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Ikeja.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Sunday from the back of a community center. We started with 29 families, and now we feed 358 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 53% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Ikeja market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $240
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $85
• Baby formula and diapers: $70
• Refrigeration and electricity: $55
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

praying for you. More neighborhoods should do this. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Oakland
You're not alone, Daniel. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Take care.
Hope you get there. After 30 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
