She has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $2,700. The registrar has said Cora can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Cora has a top-ten-percent average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Cora would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
