The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,350, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $950 short. my mother has been in and out of Tema Orthopedic Institute since July. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,350 is more than we can find. While we wait, Comfort struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks.       Sure. The biggest one is surgeon and anesthesia fees, $430. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.
