Charlene is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a computer science degree at Bloemfontein Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,250. The registrar has said Charlene can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Charlene has a 3.6 average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Charlene would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Charlene isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Bloemfontein Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,250 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $350 • Final term tuition: $770 • Exam and lab fees: $25 • Textbooks and materials: $105 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
