Help Chalerm keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for elderly neighbors in Bangkok.
🇹🇭 Bangkok, Bangkok, Thailand2,325 views
Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Friday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 17 families, and now we feed 182 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 36% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bangkok market and keep every receipt.
Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $450 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $120
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $260
• Refrigeration and electricity: $70
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Chalerm
It's all in the list in the story. baby formula and diapers is the big one at $120, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Thanks for looking so closely.
take care, Chalerm. Looking forward to the next update.
