Help Cesar keep the the Sunday Shelf pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Caloocan.
🇵🇭 Caloocan, Metro Manila, Philippines205 views
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Sunday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 20 families, and now we feed 314 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 49% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Caloocan market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $600 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $340
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $120
• Baby formula and diapers: $115
• Refrigeration and electricity: $25
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

stay strong, Cesar. Hope you get there. Greetings from Saint-Denis
Wishing you peace, Cesar. More neighborhoods should do this. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. God bless.
Good luck. Your post was clear and honest. Put this on a community board in Yonkers this morning. All the best
shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Caloocan.
sending strength, Cesar. Hope this works out for you. Blessings.
