The gas account is 2 months behind. Carmen received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on July unless $150 is paid. She had never been late before my partner leaving the household.
Carmen called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $55 first, which isn't available.
The household includes two young children, and going through the cold months without gas isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
Carmen is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Carmen's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
