Help keep a free food pantry open for families facing hunger in Duisburg.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Sunday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 320 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 33% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Duisburg market and keep every receipt.
Each $45 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,200 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $760
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,250
• Refrigeration and electricity: $190
I hope life is good to you.

Wishing you peace, Brigitte. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Sent it to 5 people at work!
best of luck, Brigitte. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I'm in farming myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
You're not alone, Brigitte. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best.
