Help keep a free food pantry open for families and seniors in Adama.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Sunday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 150 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 55% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Adama market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $230
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $70
• Baby formula and diapers: $70
• Refrigeration and electricity: $30
Glad we found this place.

how is Bereket doing now?
Stay strong. Shared it with a few friends. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. God bless.
Wishing you the best, Bereket. I hope things turn around soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend
Stay strong. Looking forward to the next update. Please keep us posted. Greetings from Berlin
praying for you, Bereket. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 18 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Adama
