Help Bennett keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked
The Open Hands Pantry pantry in San Jose is running low just as demand rises; $1,500 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 358 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 41% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Jose market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $540
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $800
• Refrigeration and electricity: $160
