Benjamin was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in July. The oncology team at the Newcastle Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Benjamin is 35, worked as a farmer until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Newcastle Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Transport to the Newcastle Oncology Institute: $660
• Scans and lab work: $1,400
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $490
