Bayu was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in February. The surgeon at Saint Mary Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and He is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $400, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $200 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Mary Hospital since February. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $400 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Bayu struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Bayu won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.

• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $85
• Travel and lodging for the family: $55
• Post-operative medication: $60

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Bayu
Sure. The biggest one is pre-operative tests and imaging, $85. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks for looking so closely.
