Help Ayanda keep the Community Pantry pantry stocked
The Community Pantry pantry in Ekurhuleni is running low just as demand rises; $950 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Tuesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 14 families, and now we feed 297 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 49% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Ekurhuleni market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $950 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $470
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $270
• Baby formula and diapers: $140
• Refrigeration and electricity: $70
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

looking forward to the next update. Don't give up
Hang in there, Ayanda. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 13 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings
