Aurora was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in September. The surgeon at Austin Regional Medical Center recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,500, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $4,950 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Austin Regional Medical Center since September. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Aurora struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Aurora won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Aurora.
Physiotherapy sessions is $400 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Fair thing to want to know.
