Annabelle was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in July. The surgeon at Saint Joseph Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $4,000 short.
my mother has been in and out of Saint Joseph Hospital since July. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Annabelle struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Annabelle won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
