Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Friday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 96 each week. Donations have dropped by about 42% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bogotá market and keep every receipt. Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $800 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $270 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $360 • Baby formula and diapers: $70 • Refrigeration and electricity: $100 I hope life is good to you. - Andrés

  • Hang in there. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We're a small family in Manchester but we're thinking of you. All the best

    • Rooting for you. More neighborhoods should do this. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Rawalpindi.
