Calamba
Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 29 families, and now we feed 77 each week. Donations have dropped by about 36% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Calamba market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $300 goes: • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $120 • Baby formula and diapers: $125 • Refrigeration and electricity: $55 I hope life is good to you.

Updates from Allan

  1. Quick update: $131 raised so far (44%). I made the first payment toward refrigeration and electricity. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
