Aisha is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an agriculture degree at the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $550. The registrar has said Aisha can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Aisha has a top-ten-percent average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Aisha would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Aisha isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $550 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $15 • Outstanding tuition balance: $250 • Final term tuition: $285 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
