Adrián was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in September. The surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,300, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,850 short.
my father has been in and out of Saint Matthew Hospital since September. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,300 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Adrián struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Adrián won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Physiotherapy sessions: $410
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,250
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $190
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
