Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Saturday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 116 each week. Donations have dropped by about 54% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Strasbourg market and keep every receipt. Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $3,000 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,600 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $860 • Baby formula and diapers: $240 • Refrigeration and electricity: $300 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
