Help Achieng keep the Community Pantry pantry stocked
The Community Pantry pantry in Dar es Salaam is running low just as demand rises; $200 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Wednesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 142 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 36% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Dar es Salaam market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $200 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $95
• Baby formula and diapers: $65
• Refrigeration and electricity: $40
Thanks for reading all this.
