Help Abigail keep the the Second Helping pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Accra.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Friday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 26 families, and now we feed 314 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 34% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Accra market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $350 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $240
• Refrigeration and electricity: $25
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $85
If you're reading this, thank you.

is there anything that isn't money that would help Abigail?
Thank you. If you're in Accra I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for looking so closely.
It takes guts to ask. Well done. Wish I lived closer to Campinas so I could bring a meal. Take care.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My neighbor in Sydney donated after I showed her your page. Greetings from Sydney.
You're not alone, Abigail. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 12 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
Sending good thoughts, Abigail. This could happen to any of us. Love from Jimma.
everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Accra.
