The heatwave hit Hillcrest village on 27 June. My home was one of 63 damaged, and 14 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $1,250 goes: • Roofing sheets and timber: $650 • Clean water and purification supplies: $135 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $85 • Food parcels for displaced families: $195 • Tools and labor for repairs: $185 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Sure. The biggest one is roofing sheets and timber, $650. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Let me know if you want more detail.

      • Take care, Sakshi. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 11 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Take care

        • Rooting for you, Sakshi. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Faisalabad.

          • Keep going, Sakshi. Hope you get there. Greetings from Manchester.
