The heating account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless I pay $600. I have never been late before losing my job in April. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $165 first, which I don't have. I live with a disabled brother, and going through winter without heating isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $600 goes: • Gas arrears: $230 • Reconnection and late fees: $150 • Down payment on a payment plan: $220 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
