Heating shut-off notice: help Unathi pay $250
Unathi is behind on heating bills after an unexpected car repair and needs $250 to avoid a shut-off.

The heating account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on May unless I pay $250. I have never been late before an unexpected car repair.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $25 first, which I don't have.
I live with three children under ten, and going through the cold months without heating isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Unathi's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
Where the $250 goes:
• Heating arrears: $140
• Reconnection and late fees: $40
• Down payment on a payment plan: $70

how is Unathi doing now?
Sending good thoughts, Unathi. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I have a 6 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
You're not alone, Unathi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Greetings from Hải Phòng.
I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. We're a small family in Johannesburg but we're thinking of you. Take care.
you're not alone, Unathi. Looking forward to the next update. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
