Heating shut-off notice: help Santiago pay $250
Santiago is behind on heating bills after an unexpected car repair and needs $250 to avoid a shut-off.

The heating account is 4 months behind. Santiago received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless $250 is paid. He had never been late before an unexpected car repair.
Santiago called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $35 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through summer without heating isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
Santiago is working on getting back on his feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
Where the $250 goes:
• Electricity arrears: $170
• Reconnection and late fees: $35
• Down payment on a payment plan: $45
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
