Heating shut-off notice: help Paul pay $150

The heating account is 3 months behind. Paul received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on December unless $150 is paid. He had never been late before my partner leaving the household. Paul called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $40 first, which isn't available. The household includes a newborn, and going through the rainy season without heating isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home. Paul is working on getting back on his feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
