The heating account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on September unless I pay $700. I have never been late before a reduction in hours. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $135 first, which I don't have. I live with a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the cold months without heating isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $700 goes: • Electricity arrears: $400 • Reconnection and late fees: $165 • Down payment on a payment plan: $135 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Jose
