Heating shut-off notice: help Carla pay $200

Carla is behind on heating bills after losing my job in January and needs $200 to avoid a shut-off.

The heating account is 2 months behind. Carla received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on April unless $200 is paid. She had never been late before losing my job in January. Carla called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which isn't available. The household includes two young children, and going through the cold months without heating isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. Carla is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $200 goes: • Heating arrears: $75 • Reconnection and late fees: $35 • Down payment on a payment plan: $90 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
