The heating account is 2 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless I pay $700. I have never been late before September's medical emergency. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $180 first, which I don't have. I live with a newborn, and going through the rainy season without heating isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Annelies's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $700 goes: • Utility arrears: $340 • Reconnection and late fees: $135 • Down payment on a payment plan: $225 I hope life is good to you. - Annelies

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Annelies.

    • It's all in the list in the story. utility arrears is the big one at $340, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. It helps to be asked.

  • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 15 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless.

    • Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Greetings from Philadelphia.

      • hope it all works out, Annelies. This could happen to any of us. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

        • Looking forward to the next update. We're a small family in Cần Thơ but we're thinking of you. Take care
