The heating account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on May unless I pay $550. I have never been late before losing my job in February. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $100 first, which I don't have. I live with a disabled brother, and going through the cold months without heating isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $550 goes: • Electricity arrears: $320 • Reconnection and late fees: $55 • Down payment on a payment plan: $175 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Agnès
