Heather needs a lift to Aurora Regional Medical Center - can you help one day a week?

A rota of drivers to Aurora Regional Medical Center would keep Heather on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Heather has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to Aurora Regional Medical Center alone. After a foot amputation, Heather can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 27 km each way. Heather is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.

    • hope the doctors have good news. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Love from Bronx.

Hope things get better soon. Your post was clear and honest. We're a small family in Likoni but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Aurora.

        • I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My husband and I read this together. God bless.
