Harper was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in August. The surgeon at Glasgow Orthopedic Institute recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for October. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,750 is more than we can find. While we wait, Harper struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks.
