Harmony Primary School needs a solar-powered water pump - Chidinma's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $550 for materials.
Anywhere in the world170 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 139 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $400
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $80
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
