Harmony Primary School needs a skate park - Xue's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $2,800 for materials.
🇺🇸 United States864 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,800.
It will serve about 286 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• Materials: $2,050
• Permits and inspections: $185
• Safety equipment and signage: $220
• Tools hire and delivery: $345
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Xue.
Sure. The biggest one is materials, $2,050. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
stay strong, Xue. More neighborhoods should do this. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. God bless.
