We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $250 for materials.

Cairo
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $250. It will serve about 205 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $250 goes: • Materials: $125 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $25 • Tools hire and delivery: $80 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Amira

So sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Cairo.
