Harmony Park needs a solar-powered water pump - Beatriz's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Tlaquepaque are raising $800 for a solar-powered water pump at Harmony Park.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $165, and the remaining cost is $800.
It will serve about 514 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $800 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $85
• Materials: $600
• Permits and inspections: $115
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Beatriz!
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. safety equipment and signage comes first ($85) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Good question.
Thinking of you, Beatriz. I hope things turn around soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too
Praying for you, Beatriz. I hope things turn around soon. Love from Denver.
Wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Please keep us posted. Thinking of Tlaquepaque.
Good luck, Beatriz. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
Thanks for sharing this. Your post was clear and honest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Los Angeles
Praying for you. More neighborhoods should do this. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best
