Harmony Park needs a free library and reading room - Piper's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $2,750 for materials.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $840, and the remaining cost is $2,750.
It will serve about 504 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,750 goes:
• Materials: $2,000
• Permits and inspections: $270
• Safety equipment and signage: $260
• Tools hire and delivery: $220
